Emma is an experienced osteopath and specialist paediatric osteopath.
After graduating from The British School of Osteopathy, (now UCO), with Distinction and the prestigious Silver medal for graduating at the top of her year, Emma registered with the General Osteopathic Council and Institute of Osteopathy and undertook postgraduate training in cranial osteopathy and short course in woman’s health and visceral osteopathy whilst working in Central London. She then went on to specialise in woman’s health and paediatrics doing a further 2 years of Post Graduate training and being awarded the Diploma in Paediatrics (DPO) from the Osteopathic Centre for Children (OCC) in London.
Through her training as a breastfeeding peer supporter as well as her time working in the clinic at the OCC, Emma developed a keen interest in infants with feeding disorders and works very closely with a number of IBCLC’s (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) and tongue-tie practitioners to support infant feeding. Emma is also an affiliate member of the Association of Tongue Tie Practitioners.
Prior to being an Osteopath, Emma trained to be a clinical pilates teacher. She completed her fully comprehensive studio and mat pilates teacher training with the Australian Pilates Method Association in 2002. She has taught pilates since then in both her native Sydney Australia and in the UK.
She combines her clinical pilates and osteopathic treatment skills to support the clients she works with. Emma works particularly with woman through all phases of life but especially during preconception, pregnancy and postpartum and with babies and children.
She founded Emma Hayward Osteopathy in Whitstable, Kent in 2018 after moving to the area with her family. She also continues to be part of the team at Nunhead Osteopathic Practice – a practice known for excellence in the fields of paediatrics and cranial osteopathy.
